1981 Ritchey Everest
This is an early high-end mountain bike. Tom Ritchey was the first person to begin manufacturing
mountain bikes on a regular basis. This particular bike was built up with high-end components, and
was sold in Laguna Beach, CA.
Although this bike is a little large for me (I prefer a 21" Ritchey frame), I can still ride it
if need be.
I have another Ritchey frame that is nearly identical (other than it's 2" smaller) to this one that is currently being restored.
While this one is well preserved, its little brother was not. Although the smaller frame is the
same color and exact same frame design, it's components were less expensive than those on this bike.
Close ups of many of the components and additional pictures of the bike can be found at
www.oldmountainbikes.com.
