Yeti Race Bike

This bike was a "team" race bike from the mid-90s. I bought it from the original owner who raced for Yeti. It came with several blue anodized parts that were typical of the era; the top tube cable guides, the pulley for rerouting the front derailler cable, the Cook Brothers crank arms, and the Ringlé hubs were all anodized blue. I added a later model Yeti bar of the same color to replace the riser bar, and found a black Ringlé Moby seat post and black stem to make the bike look better. The picture below is from the original owner and does not reflect changes that I have made - a new pic is coming soon.

I bought this bike on eBay. It was sold as a 1996 bike, but the graphics seem to match the ones in the '95 catalog better. I'm not positive of the year, but based on the serial number, I'm guessing this was the 933rd ARC that Yeti built.

At first glance, this bike is similar to my 1998 Yeti. However, there are subtle differences. This bike has the older style ARC graphics, with the true Yeti "dart" paint job, while the '98 has the Troy Lee graphics. This bike also has a 1 1/4" head tube, uses a bottom-pull front derailler, and has an integrated seat clamp; as opposed to a 1 1/8" head tube, top-pull derailler, and a removable seat clamp. Subtle difference, but differences none the less.

Unfortunately, while having the bike shipped to me after I purchased it, UPS managed to put a rather large dent in the down tube and broke the front fork. Luckily, I was able to replace the fork lowers easily, but the dent will always remain.
